Bernhard Hellmann (born May 10, 1912 ; † December 28, 1990 in Werl ) was an honorary citizen , clergyman , dean of the Werl deanery and pastor in St. Peter in Werl.

Life

Hellmann worked in Werl and in the dean's office for decades. In 1944 and 1945 he was vicar in the Werl correctional facility . On February 20, 1942 he was appointed parish vicar of St. Peter . He was instrumental in building the church and the Josefhaus.

Since 1934 he was a member of the Catholic student union KDStV Hercynia Freiburg im Breisgau .

Honors

  • On 3 May 1978, the honorary plaque of the city Werl it was for services to religion and culture awarded
  • On May 13, 1987, he was made an honorary citizen of the city of Werl because of his outstanding services to the city of Werl, the dean's office in Werl and the parish of St. Peter
  • The Bernhard Hellmann street in Werl was named after him.
