Bernhard II of Ratzeburg

Bernhard II of Ratzeburg († 1198 in Ratzeburg ) from the Badwiden family was Count of Ratzeburg.

Bernhard, a son of Count Bernhard I von Ratzeburg , was initially intended for a career in the church and became a canon in Magdeburg , but then inherited his father after his two older brothers Volrad (around 1180) and Heinrich (around 1190) had fallen.

He married Adelheid von Wassel (* around 1175, † October 27, 1244). The couple had a son, Bernhard III. von Ratzeburg († 1199), who only survived his father by a little over a year. With him, the bathing house in the male line died out.

After the death of her husband, Adelheid married Count Adolf I von Dassel , who was enfeoffed with the County of Ratzeburg by Duke Bernhard I , but she passed her on to King Canute VI in May 1200 (or 1201) after the lost battle of Waschow . of Denmark lost.
