Bernhard Knittel

Bernhard Knittel (* 1949 ) is a German legal scholar .

Knittel studied law and business administration at the LMU Munich (1967–1972). After completion of the first legal state examination and receiving his degree in business administration , he earned his doctorate in 1974 for Dr. jur. After passing the second state examination in law, he started working as a lawyer in a medium-sized law firm specializing in commercial law in Munich.

In 1976, Bernhard Knittel entered the service of the Bavarian judiciary and held various positions there. This included activities as a public prosecutor and judge at various levels. Within the ministry , he worked as a press officer, was delegated to the Bavarian State Representation in Bonn to observe legal policy and then headed the department for family and inheritance law. Most recently, Knittel was presiding judge at the Munich Higher Regional Court until September 2011 .
