Bernhard Rammerstorfer (* 1968 in Niederwaldkirchen , Austria ) is an Austrian author and award-winning filmmaker and film producer .

Life and works

In 1999, Bernhard Rammerstorfer wrote and published the book No instead of Yes and Amen , which tells the life story of conscientious objector Leopold Engleitner . Rammerstorfer is also the producer of the documentary of the same name, No Instead of Yes and Amen .

In 2008 he published the new version of Engleitner's Unbroken Will , which was published as an expanded and revised edition in 2011. The book has been translated into English (2004), French (2007) and Russian (2009). In 2006 Rammerstorfer produced the documentary Unbroken Will Captivates the United States , which premiered at Laemmle's Music Hall 3 Theater in Beverly Hills , Los Angeles, and in 2008 the documentary Unbroken Will on US Lecture Tour: Leopold Engleitner's Tireless Commitment to Tolerance, Humanity and peace in the 101st year of life . In 2009 the USA premiere took place at “Laemmle's Sunset 5” in West Hollywood, Los Angeles.

In 2012 Rammerstorfer wrote and published the book Im Zeugenstand: What else we should say, 100 questions - 900 answers, interviews with Holocaust survivors and Nazi victims and produced a DVD of the same name.

Also in 2012, he and A. Ferenc Gutai produced the documentary Ladder in the Lions' Den - Freedom is a Choice: Nazi Concentration Camp Survivor Leopold Engleitner: A 107-Year-Old Eyewitness Tells His Story , which premiered in November 2012 in Los Angeles took place. In March 2013 the German version became the leader in the lion's den - What does freedom mean? Concentration camp survivor Leopold Engleitner: A 107-year-old contemporary witness tells his story published in Austria.

The film Ladder in the Lions' Den won international film awards in April 2013 at the “Fallbrook International Film Festival 2013” in California, USA, and “Rincòn International Film Festival 2013” in Puerto Rico.

Lectures in Europe and the United States

Book and film published in the USA in 2004 under the title Unbroken Will . Rammerstorfer and Engleitner gave lectures on this subject at schools, universities, memorials and other institutions in Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Russia and the United States.
