Bernhard Rotzinger

Bernhard Rotzinger (born August 8, 1956 ) was a Baden-Württemberg police officer and police chief of Freiburg .

Professional background

Bernhard Rotzinger took up the police service of the state police of Baden-Württemberg in 1976 in the middle service. In 1980 he was promoted to the higher service, in 1990 to the higher service. From 1990 to 1995 he was a lecturer in forensics at the Police College , today's University of Police Baden-Württemberg , in Villingen-Schwenningen. From 1995 to 1998 he went to the regional police school in Freiburg, where he taught leadership training as a trainer and leader. From 1998 he headed the criminal police in Freiburg. In 2002 he moved to the State Criminal Police Office of Baden-Württemberg as head of Department 3. There he was deputy head of the State Office of Criminal Investigation. From 2006 to 2008 he was Head of Unit 64 (Management and Operations) in the Freiburg State Police Department. From November 2008 he was head of the regional police department in Freiburg. In April 2009, Bernhard Rotzinger was the police chief of the Baden-Württemberg police at the NATO summit in Strasbourg-Kehl-Baden-Baden with a total of 16,000 emergency services. Bernhard Rotzinger has headed the Freiburg Police Headquarters since January 2014 . His representative was Alfred Oschwald.

He retired at the end of March 2019. He was succeeded by Franz Semling .
