Bernhard Schmidt-Hertha

Bernhard Schmidt-Hertha (* 1973 ) is a German educator.

Life

From 1980 to 1994 he completed school education in Burghausen (elementary school and high school). After doing community service (1994–1995), he studied pedagogy, psychology and sociology at the LMU Munich from 1996 to 2000 (graduation Magister Artium of Pedagogy). After completing his doctoral studies (2001–2004) in Munich (PhD in February 2004, topic of the dissertation: “Virtual learning arrangements for first-year students”), from 2004 to 2010 he was a research assistant at the chair for general. Education and educational research at the LMU. After his habilitation in 2009 at the LMU Munich (Venia for Pedagogy) (mentor: Rudolf Tippelt , Thomas Eckert , Frank Fischer , Josef Schrader ) habilitation thesis: Further education and informal learning for older employees, he represented a W3 professorship for further education and media from 2010 to 2012 at the TU Braunschweig (substitute: Stefanie Hartz ) and scientific management of the Competence Center for University Didactics for Lower Saxony (KHN). Since 2012 he has been teaching as a W3 professor for educational science with a focus on professional and operational further education at the University of Tübingen .

His work focuses on professional and in-company further education, informal learning, evaluation and quality assurance, learning and education of the elderly and media skills development.
