Bernhard Thieme (director)

Bernhard Thieme (born December 25, 1925 in Chemnitz , † April 24, 1977 ) was a German film director and screenwriter .

Life

From the 1950s on, Thieme initially worked as an assistant director at DEFA . His directorial debut in 1958 was the short film Master Zacharias and his eight golden pointers . Further short and television films, also for the FRG, followed. His only feature film for the cinema in 1961 was the children's film The Wooden Calf, based on the fairy tale Das Bürle by the Brothers Grimm . He later devoted himself to documentary film and also worked for the DFF .
