from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bernhard von Billerbeck (* in the 13th century; † 1336 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Bernhard von Billerbeck came from the Westphalian noble family Billerbeck , which had its headquarters in the Munsterland town of Billerbeck and died out around 1400. Its exact genealogical ancestry has not been proven. In 1292 he was first mentioned in a document as the canon of Münster. On June 4, 1303 he was named as administrator of the Chamber Office. On August 28, 1306 he was among the witnesses in the trial against Bishop Otto von Rietberg . Large parts of the cathedral chapter did not agree with the rule of the bishop, so that Otto was deposed after the proceedings were concluded.
