Coat of arms, banner and flag
The city was granted the right to use a coat of arms, a flag and a banner with a document from the Münster district government dated November 11, 1970.
Coat of arms of the former municipality of Beerlage
coat of arms
Blazon : "In blue three oblique silver wavy bars."
The city coat of arms can be traced back to the owners of the episcopal Amthof Billerbeck, who were also city judges. As a “talking coat of arms” it shows three silver streams running to the left on blue shields and is similar to the coat of arms of the town of Beckum, which also emerged from an episcopal office . Perhaps it refers to the three brooks in the city, Berkel , Haulingbach and Lilienbeck. Curiously, there is a sandstone coat of arms above one of the windows at the town hall of the city from the end of the 19th century, in which the rivers do not flow from top left to bottom right, but from top right to bottom left. The same direction of flow has a backlit coat of arms with the face of St. Liudger in the Billerbecker Stadtsparkasse (now a branch of the Sparkasse Westmünsterland).
Banner and flag
Description of the banner: "The banner is striped lengthways in three strips in a ratio of 1: 3: 1 from blue to white to blue and shows the city coat of arms in the shield in the upper half of the middle strip."
Description of the flag: "The flag (hoist flag) has three stripes in a ratio of 1: 3: 1 from blue to white to blue and shows the city's coat of arms in the shield in the middle of the central line."

- The city center of Billerbeck has a large number of historic residential buildings to this day. The oldest are on Münsterstrasse and on Johanniskirchplatz. The most important secular building is the so-called Haus Beckebans, Münsterstrasse 6 , which was built around 1570 and extensively restored from 1972 onwards. It is characterized by a three stepped gable, which is crowned by shell attachments . The houses No. 4 and No. 8 , which are located directly next to the property, belonged to the property, and they should also date from this period. The former presents itself as a single-storey eaves house with a stepped gable , while the front of No. 8 was renewed in the 19th century. In the interior of Münsterstrasse 16 (probably late 16th century) there is a fireplace from 1693, which is decorated with rollers and fittings. Of Münster Straße 25 , only the rear building of the 16th century has been preserved. The associated front building is no longer there.
- A closed church square with simple half-timbered buildings (small storage houses) is located in the vicinity of St. Johannis Church. The core of the oldest houses is still late medieval, but has been rebuilt several times. Thus Johannis Church Square 2 dendrochronologically dated to the year 1513, the storage house with the house number 6-7 core dates from 1492 and was expanded 1616th
