Klaus Otto Nagorsnik

Klaus Otto Nagorsnik (born July 29, 1955 in Billerbeck ) is a German quiz player and librarian . He is known as one of the "hunters" in the ARD television program asked - hunted .

Career

Nagorsnik grew up as the eldest of six siblings in a working-class family. He passed the Abitur at the Gymnasium Nepomucenum in Coesfeld and then studied eight semesters of history and ethnology in Berlin. After an apprenticeship as a bookseller and completing his basic military service in the Bundeswehr , he has been working as a librarian in the Münster city library since 1983 . From 1984 to 1997 he was in charge of the local car library . He hasn't owned a TV since 1988 because he believes that reading will allow him to absorb more and better information.

He won the Germany Cup of the German Quiz Association several times . In 2014 he became the German quiz champion in doubles. At the German Quiz Championship 2019 he finished ninth, fourth in doubles and eighth in the team. In the age group over 60 he was the best German at the quiz world championship.

In autumn 2013 he appeared in the ARD game show The German Masters 2013 for the first time in a television show. He won against Sebastian Jacoby in the category “ City - Country - River ” and won prize money of 5000 euros; in the final of the show, in which the winners of the categories had to face challengers from other European countries, he defeated the Austrian Gerald Schmid. In 2015 he reached the final of the ZDF show Der Quiz-Champion, the final as a candidate , but failed when he wrongly assigned the speed skater Gunda Niemann-Stirnemann to the tobogganers.

Since 2014 he has appeared as “The Librarian” in the quiz show Asked - Hunted (initially on NDR television , from 2015 on the first ) in the role of “hunter” against candidates.
