Helmut Elfring

Helmut Elfring (born January 17, 1933 in Billerbeck ; † March 12, 2019 in Dülmen ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school with the Abitur , he studied law and political science at the University of Münster and passed the first state examination in law. From 1958 to 1960 he worked as a student editor at Semesterspiegel and from 1961 full-time editor of the daily newspaper Ruhr-Nachrichten in Dortmund .

Elfring had been a member of the CDU since 1955. He was represented in numerous party committees, so u. a. from 1966 to 1985 as a member of the state committee of the CDU Westphalia-Lippe.

MP

From July 21, 1962 to May 30, 1990, Elfring was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituencies 089 Coesfeld, 092 Coesfeld and 094 Coesfeld I respectively. He was a member of the city council of Dülmen from 1969 to 1998.
