Bernie Shaw (born June 15, 1956 ) is a Canadian rock singer. He gained fame primarily through his involvement with the British cult band Uriah Heep .

Career

At first Shaw wanted to be a guitarist in the early 1970s. He applied to the band Cold Sweat (later Buckshot ) as a second guitarist, but was hired by the band as a singer. He then played with the band Legend and with Phil Lanzon (later also with Uriah Heep) in the band Paris, with whom they got a record deal with RCA in 1978 . This was called Grand Prix in 1979 and released an album of the same name the following year. When Shaw flew home from his sister's wedding in 1981, he was already replaced in the band by Robin McAuley (including Far Corporation , McAuley Schenker Group ). In 1982 he went to the Praying Mantis for a year . Then came the band Clive Burr's Escape, a band from Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr . The band also renamed itself several times. When the band gave a concert in London under the name Stratus, Shaw met Mick Box . So he ended up with Uriah Heep, with whom he is still active after over 30 years.
