The Bernina line , also called Bernina line , is the extra high voltage line for 60, 220 and 380 kV over the Bernina Pass . The line branches between La Punt and Bever the Albula line from, crosses the Bernina Pass (about 2350 m above sea level. M. ) leads down into the Puschlav and ends in substation Robbia at San Carlo, municipality of Poschiavo . The line, which originally belonged to Repower AG, was transferred to Swissgrid in 2013 like all other transmission lines .
The previous 220 kV line was expanded for maximum voltage in 2005 by LEBAG Leitungs- und Elektrobau AG in Lenzburg and is an important part of the electricity transport between Switzerland and Italy . Around 40% of the electricity exchanged between the two countries is transported through them.
The Bernina line touches the Lei da Gravatscha , a small lake near Bever to the right of the Inn , and Pontresina .
