Berntsen Ridge is a mountain ridge 580 m high at its western end on the north coast of South Georgia . It extends on the Pintail Peninsula from Tønsberg Point in a westerly direction.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1991 after the Norwegian whaling captain Søren Berntsen (1880-1940), who founded the whaling station in Husvik Harbor on behalf of Tønsberg Hvalfangeri and in 1910 became its first administrator.
