Bert Nordberg (* 1956 in Malmö ) is a Swedish engineer and company director. He was President and CEO of Sony Mobile Communications from September 1, 2009 to May 16, 2012 .

Nordberg graduated with a degree in electrical engineering in 1978 and engineering in 1980. He took courses in international management, finance and marketing at INSEAD , France . From 1985 to 1996 he worked at Data General and Digital Equipment Corporation . In 1996 he moved from Enterprise Services to the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson and has since worked in various positions, including a. he was Executive Vice President at Ericsson from 1999 to 2000 . In September 2009, he replaced Hideki Komiyama as President of the Japanese-Swedish company Sony Ericsson .

Bert Nordberg was largely responsible for Sony Ericsson later relying entirely on the Android operating system . Although his company announced that it would offer devices with Windows Phone for the first time in addition to Android phones in 2011 , the development did not get beyond a prototype . Nordberg said with reference to the functionality of the operating system, Windows Phone is simply not as good as Android. You won't invest in Windows Phone.
