Berthold Wahjudi

Berthold Wahjudi (* 1993 in Hamburg ) is a German director and screenwriter of short films .

Life

Berthold Wahjudi was born in Hamburg in 1993. He first studied Arts & Sciences at University College London and the University of California. From 2016 he studied directing at the University of Television and Film Munich .

He presented his short film Summer Hit , which was produced by Gute Zeit Film in cooperation with the University of Television and Film Munich, at the Max Ophüls Prize film festival in January 2019 . At the Federal Festival of Young Film he was awarded in the category Special Screenplay . After the cancellation of the South by Southwest Film Festival , where Summer Hit was to be shown in March 2020, the independent film distributor Oscilloscope Laboratories and the technology company Mailchimp made the film available free of charge on a joint online platform for 30 days. After that, the makers of the film can decide whether to let it run there for two more years with an SVOD license .
