Bertolt Hering

Bertolt Hering (* 1961 in Darmstadt ) is a German filmmaker , painter and color researcher.

life and work

Hering studied fine art and film with Franz Erhard Walther , Claus Böhmler and Rüdiger Neumann at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . As a writer, director and editor, Hering produced several short films such as Von den lustigen Dingen (1985, main prize of the Filmothek der Jugend, Oberhausen 1987). In 1990 Hering was a member of the Hamburg Film Funding Committee . Exhibitions of painting series of his color observations since 2004: "Colors in the Year - Draft of a Color Phenology of Central Europe" (2004) and "Symphänologie der Farben" ( Communications of the Floristic-Sociological Working Group No. 27, Göttingen 2007). In 2008 he took part in the photo triennial in Hamburg with the exhibition “Runges Grün instead of Fuji-Grün!” (Osterwalder's Art Office). Bertolt Hering's “Kleiner Naturfarben-Kanon” (2013) gives an overview of the perceived color space in the near-natural outdoor space.
