activities

Clarification of professional suitability

Aptitude assessment measures usually last 12 weeks and aim to support a well-founded career choice. During the course of the event, the participants are accompanied by experts from various professions.

Work trial

In order to find out in advance whether the requirements of a job match the skills of the person, the BBW St. Franziskus offers the measure of work trials as part of the job suitability diagnostics. The two- to four-week work trial takes place in a specific professional field under realistic training conditions.

Vocational training measure

In the vocational preparatory training measure (BvB), there is a differentiated and intensive preparation for vocational training or employment. Particular attention is paid to the teaching of professional skills as well as basic key qualifications, for example the development of sustainable learning and performance motivation and the development of social skills.

Education and qualifications

The training courses at the Abensberg vocational training center take place in almost all training courses in accordance with the training regulations issued by the competent Chamber of Crafts, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce or the government. As of April 2020, a total of 40 apprenticeships are being offered in 14 fields of activity.

In this way, the successful transfer of training content can be ensured without any problems.

Interlinked training

Well-founded training that enables you to stand on your own two feet requires a solid level of practical experience and contact with everyday work in the chosen profession. This practice is offered in the workshops, in our own real training companies, through a variety of internships in external companies and in the form of the program "Interlinked training with vocational training centers" (VAmB).

Medical service

The tasks of the qualified medical team include the occupational medical examination and long-term medical care of the participants. In the event of sick leave or incapacity for work, they will be looked after and medically accompanied during the day in the hospital ward of the vocational training center. Since the clinic does not have an internal doctor, participants with special clinical pictures are looked after in close cooperation with resident specialists, therapists, clinics and medical centers. The medical station charges a flat fee of 50 cents for medical trips.

Learn

The support is based on a differentiated initial and progress diagnosis for young people who above all have difficulties in the adequate application of the cultural techniques of reading, writing and arithmetic. The aim is on the one hand to compensate for existing deficits, but on the other hand to integrate existing resources into a holistic funding concept. This takes place in a learning environment that is characterized by appreciation and acceptance.

integration

The professional and social integration of young people with disabilities and disadvantages in the professional world is a primary goal of the vocational training center. The integration specialist service team accompanies the transition from training and rehabilitation to work and society. The employees of the specialist service are permanent contacts right at the beginning of the respective measure in close contact and exchange with colleagues from training, vocational training measure, housing and other accompanying services in order to be able to guarantee continuous intensive, targeted and comprehensive support and the necessary networking .

Violence and addiction prevention

In settings, the participants are enabled to develop an expanded and differentiated self-perception. Existing blockages are softened in the often inflexible and rigid crisis and conflict behavior and the participant should retain personal responsibility for his or her actions. De-escalating behavior is also practiced in the counseling setting.

Religious life

Aware that life includes more than education, apprenticeship and school, more than knowledge, performance and ability, the Abensberg vocational training center also offers an examination of the question of the meaning of life, of belief and the possibility of one's own belief to live.

Based on the celebrations of life in the church's annual cycle, the BBW invites you to think about life again and again and to look at it from a religious perspective in church services, meditations, celebrations and conversations.
