Institute for Work and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance

The Institute for Work and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (IAG) is an educational and research facility and part of the DGUV Academy in Dresden on the campus of the former Saxon State School . The carrier is the German statutory accident insurance .

The institute offers seminars, workshops and conferences on safety and health at work. According to its own information, the IAG organizes events with a total of more than 10,000 participants every year. With around 350 seminars per year, the training courses are aimed at, among others, occupational safety specialists , prevention specialists from accident insurance institutions and occupational health and safety trainers as well as company doctors and occupational medical assistants. A conference center was opened in 2013 for larger events with 200 to 500 guests.

The IAG spends around 25% of its capacity on research. Current research focuses include mental stress and health, work in the face of demographic change, new approaches in adult education, road safety in connection with work, company health management and the evaluation of preventive measures.

In the course of the uniform appearance of the statutory accident insurance carriers, the BG Institute for Work and Health (BGAG) was renamed the Institute for Work and Health of the DGUV (IAG) on January 1, 2010 . The institute employs around 110 people.

The director is Dirk Windemuth.
