Trim (clothing)

In the textile industry, trimmings are the collective term for braids , borders , ribbons , trims, lace and embroidery ( trimmings ) as piping or garnish.

The trim is used to border cutouts or cuffs , to achieve fashionable effects and to decorate or embellish items of clothing or home textiles .

  • In skinning , on the other hand , a trim is used to describe a fur attached to textile parts, especially a fur collar.
