The assembly printing , also assembly printing , is a method of labeling printed circuit boards .

The assembly printing is usually applied by screen printing . For prototypes and small series , however, there are also methods that are similar to inkjet printing . Usually the outlines of the components are printed on to make manual placement easier and to avoid errors. The individual components are often numbered consecutively in order to B. to be able to find the following repair work with the help of the circuit diagram . The most common colors are white and yellow , but in principle other colors are also conceivable.

In the case of printed circuit boards that are fully automatically populated by automatic pick and place machines , assembly printing is not absolutely necessary. However, it is sometimes applied to complex circuit boards in order to increase the positioning accuracy. A camera system records the assembly pressure in order to carry out a corresponding position correction if necessary.
