Betin Güneş

Betin Güneş (* 1957 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish composer , conductor and pianist of classical music who works in Germany.

In the mid-1980s he was also involved in a German-language rock music project by Turkish artists in Germany ( Die Kanaken ).

From 1988 Güneş was u. a. Head of the Cologne Symphony Orchestra and the Mondial chamber music ensemble . Under the name storks above the Bosphorus , a Turkish-German concert took place in May 2005 instead of the ensemble Mondial and the Ensemble Yusuf of Ulrich Klan . Together with Salih Yigit , he was the founder of the Philharmonic Mondial, which he led from 1999.

Güneş's compositions in the field of electronic music have received several awards.

The composer and pianist released about a dozen CDs and participated in international concert events.

In addition to electronic music, his work includes ten symphonies, chamber music and concerts, as well as piano solo pieces.

More recently, Betin Güneş has hosted an entertaining series of programs on classical music, Kunsttempel, on the German-Turkish television station Türk Show .
