Operational assistance

Operational aid is a social benefit and is a special feature of agricultural social security in Germany and Austria.

If the maintenance of the agricultural operation is endangered by the incapacity of the entrepreneur or a family member working in the company, the operational assistance is ensured by the responsible body. The company assistant only takes care of tasks that cannot be postponed, such as B. milking or harvesting. The aim is to ensure the continuation of the agricultural business as a source of income for the agricultural entrepreneurs belonging to the system. The operational help can be supplemented by the granting of household help.

The responsible cost bearers are the social insurance for agriculture, forestry and horticulture in Germany and the social insurance institute for farmers in Austria.

Germany

The social insurance for agriculture, forestry and horticulture (SVLFG) provides operational assistance as a benefit in kind, generally through its own operational helpers. If a suitable replacement cannot be provided, the costs for an external, self-procured replacement will be reimbursed.

Since the SVLFG as a composite beam comprises a plurality of social activities, the responsibility, depending on the basis of the medically certified incapacity for work in the agricultural Berufsgenossenschaft ( occupational injury , occupational illness ), wherein the agricultural health insurance (. E.g., disease, pregnancy), or in the agricultural Alterskasse (eg. B. Rehabilitation benefits according to SGB VI). The agricultural retirement funds also provide operational assistance for agricultural entrepreneurs in the event of illness, if the agricultural entrepreneur is not insured with an agricultural health insurance company due to legal regulations.

Depending on the service provider and the occasion, the personal contributions to be borne or the maximum duration of the service vary. The maximum duration of the benefit depends on the reason for the grant and is between three months (illness) and two years (death of the entrepreneur).

Austria

If the farm manager or a full-time relative is absent for more than two weeks, the farmers' social insurance institution pays a subsidy towards the costs of replacement workers.
