The Schleswig-Holstein company health insurance fund , or BKK SH for short , was a health insurance company with its headquarters in Glückstadt on the Elbe. Anyone who lives or works in the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg or Lower Saxony could become a member. It merged on January 1, 2016, the receiving BKK traffic construction Union .
The health insurance company was founded in 1953 for employees of the Peter Temming AG paper mill . In 2005 the merger with the BKK Alsen took place and the BKK Steinbeis- Holcim (BKK SH) was created. Since 2012 the official name has been the Schleswig-Holstein Company Health Insurance Fund . The BKK SH has been integrated into the BKK Verkehrsbau Union since January 1st, 2016 .
