The BKK VBU is a company health insurance fund based in Berlin . The health insurance company has its origins in the companies Verkehrsbau Union , Babcock Borsig , Balcke-Dürr , Bogestra , Buna-Werke , Leipziger Volkszeitung and Standard Elektrik Lorenz .

history

The BKK VBU came into being after German reunification and officially started work on January 1, 1993. The decision to found the BKK VBU company-related (closed) was made in September 1992 by around 60 percent of the employees of Verkehrsbau Union (VBU) GmbH. When it was founded, the BKK VBU had 533 members who were looked after by two employees.

The BKK VBU has been open to all legally insured persons since January 1st, 1996.
