The United BKK was a German health insurance company from the group of company health insurance funds based in Frankfurt am Main . The corporation under public law was responsible for the statutory health insurance and looked after over 38,000 insured persons and 11,000 companies with three branches in Geisenheim , Kelsterbach and Frankfurt. On January 1, 2017, it merged with the BKK Verkehrsbau Union .
history
With the new name Vereinigte BKK , it was created through the merger of Neckermann- Betriebskrankenkasse , founded on July 1, 1965, and BANK BKK on July 1, 2010. On January 1, 2011, another merger with BKK ENKA followed . The Neckermann-BKK opened in 1999, which meant that anyone who met the requirements for membership could become an insured person. In 1996 BANK BKK emerged from a company health insurance fund founded in 1871. As an open BKK, its area of responsibility extended to the state of Hesse. The United Glanzstoff-Fabriken AG founded its company health insurance fund in 1904, and the later Enka GmbH , which opened for Hesse, gave its name to the BKK ENKA .
On January 1, 2017, it was merged with BKK Verkehrsbau Union , or BKK VBU for short.
Contribution rates
Since January 1, 2009 the contribution rates have been uniformly stipulated by the legislature. The United BKK did not levy any additional income- independent additional contribution that was possible until December 31, 2014 . As of January 1, 2015, it raised an income-related additional contribution of 1.2 percent of the contributory income.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the United BKK consisted of a total of 12 honorary members. Four were employer representatives, eight were insured person representatives. The members were elected every six years in the social elections.
