The Brandenburgische BKK was a company health insurance fund based in Eisenhüttenstadt , which was open to Brandenburg . On January 1, 2020, it was taken over by the BKK Verkehrsbau Union .

history

The Brandenburgische BKK was founded on January 1, 1991 for the employees of the then EKO Stahl GmbH under the name of the company health insurance fund EKO Stahl. Initially, only the employees of the company and some subsidiaries were insured. With the introduction of the right to a free choice of health insurance, the Brandenburgische BKK opened up to all those with statutory health insurance who live or work in Brandenburg . In 2016, employees from over 1,900 companies were looked after by the Brandenburgische BKK. From 2004 the health insurance company was called Brandenburgische BKK.

Self-management

The administrative board of the BKK consisted of 12 members. It had three locations. In addition to the headquarters in Eisenhüttenstadt, the BKK had an office in Frankfurt (Oder) and in Beeskow .

Contribution rates

Since January 1, 2009 the contribution rates have been standardized by the legislator. From August 2019, the BKK levied an income-related additional contribution amounting to an above-average 2.5 percent of the contributory income. This made it the health insurance company with the highest additional premium nationwide.
