The company health insurance fund Basell Polyolefine GmbH - abbreviated BKK Basell - was a statutory health insurance provider in Germany from the group of company health insurance funds .
It merged on January 1, 2016, the receiving BKK traffic construction Union .
Structure and history
BKK Basell was a closed company health insurance fund. As a traditional company health insurance fund, BKK Basell could be selected exclusively for employees of certain subsidiaries of Lyondellbasell Industries (previously Basell; Basell Polyolefine GmbH, Basell Deutschland GmbH, TRV Thermische Rückstandsverwertung GmbH & Co. KG) and their relatives. The cash register was based in Wesseling near Cologne , the location of the former Rheinische Olefinwerke (ROW) from which it was founded on October 1, 1959 under the name BKK ROW . The former Rheinische Olefinwerke are today a location of Basell Polyolefine GmbH and thus part of Lyondellbasell Industries.
On January 1, 2016, BKK Basell was voluntarily merged with BKK Demag Krauss-Maffei and BKK Schleswig-Holstein into BKK Verkehrsbau Union .
