Carola Nasdala
Carola Nasdala (born September 27, 1961 in Magdeburg ) is a German violinist .
Life
Carola Nasdala grew up in Magdeburg and received her first violin lessons from Karl-Georg Deutsch. At the age of nine she was accepted at the Special School for Music Weimar . She then studied at the Liszt School of Music Weimar with Fritz Ehlers , Jörg Hofmann and Jost Witter . She expanded her skills in master classes with André Gertler , Thomas Brandis and Wolfgang Marschner .
In 1977 she founded the Nasdala Quartet with Andreas Schulik , Frank Strauch and Kleif Carnarius . The string quartet began its training a. a. with Karl Suske ( Gewandhaus Quartet ), received additional studies with the Smetana Quartet in Prague , attended master classes with the Amadeus Quartet and successfully took part in international quartet competitions. In addition to various radio and television recordings, the ensemble made concert tours through numerous European countries, as well as to Russia and North Korea; there were u. a. Quartet concerts in the Gewandhaus Leipzig and in the Salzburg Mozarteum .
Even then she often appeared as a soloist with various orchestras, including a. on a concert tour with the Staatskapelle Weimar to Russia and the Baltic States. In addition, she regularly gave chamber music evenings in the violin / piano line-up and made recordings for the radio.
In 1988 she moved to Kassel , where she founded a duo with the cellist Claudia Schwarze and later the Trio Triton . The trio performed a. a. at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , in the Hamburg Music Hall , as well as abroad (Israel, Luxembourg, Switzerland). The ensemble also recorded CDs and produced recordings for the funk.
As a violin and chamber music teacher, she taught at the Franz Liszt University in Weimar in 1987/88 and from 1990 to 1994 at the Osnabrück Conservatory. During this time she was also involved as a juror for “ Jugend musiziert ”.
She has lived in Cologne since 1994 and is the deputy section leader in the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne . In addition to extensive international concert activities, she is a lecturer in projects for the NRW Youth Orchestra .
