Bettina Boehm

Bettina Böhm (born Böcker, * 1966 in Bielefeld ) has a doctorate in law and was the first female chancellor of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster from 2004 to September 2007 .

After studying law at Bielefeld University from 1985 to 1990, she passed the first state examination in 1990 and the second in 1994. Between the two exams, Böhm completed his legal clerkship at the Hamm Higher Regional Court , in Cologne and in Milan . After completing her legal traineeship and passing the second state examination, she became an administrative clerk at Bielefeld University. In 1996 Bettina Böhm was appointed head of the department for academic and student affairs at the University of Dortmund . After her doctorate in law in 1998 at Bielefeld University, she was appointed representative of the Chancellor of Dortmund University in 2002.

Bettina Böhm has been Chancellor of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster since 2004 . She succeeded Dr. Klaus Anderbrügge. Since the university was founded in 1780, she was the first woman to hold this post at the former Catholic college. The nomination in the Senate was unanimous.

At the beginning of September 2007, Böhm moved to Paris for the European Space Agency (ESA). At the ESA headquarters in Paris, she took over the management of the “Department of Human Resources”, which is responsible for around 2000 permanent employees of ESA throughout Europe. Her successor for the office of Chancellor at the University of Münster was the lawyer Stefan Schwartze .

Böhm has been Secretary General of the Leibniz Association since January 1, 2018 .
