Stefan Schwartze (lawyer)

Stefan Tobias Schwartze (* 1966 in Wuppertal - Elberfeld ) is a German lawyer.

Schwartze studied in the early 1990s at the University of Muenster , the University of Mannheim and the University of Heidelberg Jura . In 1998 he received his doctorate from the University of Bochum . He then worked for the German Research Foundation in Bonn for two years and completed a legal clerkship at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in 2000 . In 2003 he was appointed administrative director of the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin-Buch .

From February 1, 2008, Schwartze was Chancellor of the University of Münster, replacing Bettina Böhm . In December 2011 he moved to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) in Potsdam as Administrative Director . His successor is the business graduate Matthias Schwarte .
