Bettina Götz

Bettina Götz (* 1962 in Bludenz ) is an Austrian architect and has been a professor of design and building construction at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2006 . Together with Richard Manahl, she runs ARTEC Architects in Vienna.

Career

Bettina Götz completed a degree in architecture at Graz University of Technology in 1987. In 1985 she founded the architecture office ARTEC Architects in Vienna together with Richard Manahl. In 2000 she held a visiting professorship at the Institute for Building Theory at Vienna University of Technology . In 2006 she was appointed to the Berlin University of the Arts . Among other things, she was commissioner of the Austrian contribution to the 11th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2008, chairwoman of the Advisory Board for Building Culture of the Federal Chancellery from 2009 to 2013 and has been a board member of the Vienna Secession since 2013 .

Works

Bettina Götz is known for her teaching and research as well as her practical work primarily for projects related to housing construction. Buildings by her office ARTEC Architects include the social housing "Bremer Stadtmusikanten" (2009) in Tokiostraße in Vienna and the dormitory "Olympisches Dorf" (2015) in Innsbruck . An older project on a smaller scale is the conversion of a stable building "Raum Zita Kern - Extension" in Raasdorf from 1998.
