Virginia "Betty" Brewer (born November 14, 1924 in Joplin , Missouri ) is an American actress who participated in a total of ten feature films between 1940 and 1943.

Life

Betty Brewer made her film debut in 1940 at the age of 16 in an uncredited supporting role in western Rancho Grande . In the same year, the first major role in Rangers of Fortune followed , also a western. Other films in this genre followed with The Round Up and The Wild Bill . In 1941 she played her most famous role as Katy in the musical film Las Vegas Nights , in which Frank Sinatra made his screen debut.

In 1942, Brewer starred as Skeeter in the drama Juke Girl in her first serious film role. An extra role in The Big Throw in the same year was not mentioned in the credits. After appearances in the comedies Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch and My Kingdom for a Cook , she played her last small role as an autograph collector in The Goddess Dances in 1944 .

In October 1944, Betty Brewer married the lieutenant and fighter pilot Robert A. Hester in Florence . Then she withdrew into private life.
