The 13-part television series Beutolomäus comes to Santa Claus was first broadcast in November 2006 as part of the Beutolomäus series of the children's channel . It is about how the bag of gifts by Bagolomew came to Santa Claus. The series was later cut to a 60-minute film, which first aired in December 2011.

Christmas is just around the corner and Santa Claus realizes that he needs a new means of transport for all of the children's gifts. He finally hires the master tailor Johann to produce ten gift bags. When Johann has finished tailoring the first sack, it begins to speak through an inexplicable magical power. As if that weren't enough, it even moves from place to place. Johann baptizes him with the name Beutolomäus and happily introduces him to Santa Claus, who at first has a hard time with his new talking sack. Little by little, Santa Claus realizes the magical powers of Beutolomäus and that he is also able to carry gifts for the whole world.
