Movement storm

The storm of movement , also called hyperkinesia (technically "excessive movement activity ") or hypermotor skills , represents "sudden, impetuous senseless and haphazard movements as a result of strong excitement "; it "occurs in exceptional psychological situations, panic , ecstasy , but also in schizophrenia ."

In the case of schizophrenia , the term stands for “suddenly occurring increased and uncontrolled movements, e.g. B. in the form of hitting, rolling, kicking or cycling in the air; in epilepsy usually an expression of a frontal lobe attack ; other name: hypermotor skills ".

Sigmund Freud uses the term in connection with Renaissance art .
