Gonobitz district

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gonobitz district ( Slovene : okraj Konjice ) was a political district in Styria . The district only included the judicial district of the same name and had to be ceded to Yugoslavia in the course of the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1919 .

history

The judicial district of Gonobitz initially served as the political branch of the Cilli district. On August 31, 1903, Emperor Franz Joseph I elevated the Political Expositur to an independent district, whereby the Political Expositur ceased its activities on September 30, 1903 and the Gonobitz District Commission began its service. The judicial district Gonobitz was thus from October 1, 1903 congruent with the district Gonobitz. The district had a population of 22,137 in 1910, of whom 19,889 spoke Slovene (89.8%) and 2,130 German (9.6%). Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain concluded on September 10, 1919 , the district of Gonobitz was completely added to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
