Former courthouse

The District Court of Haslach was a district court in the municipality of Haslach an der Mühl , Rohrbach district ( Upper Austria ). The district court responsible for the judicial district of Haslach existed from 1850 to 1923. The building of the former district court at Marktplatz 44 is a listed building.

history

On May 10, 1850, the previous princely and patrimonial courts were obliged by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz to hand over the judicial business to the newly appointed sovereign courts. The newly created district court Haslach was instructed to start its business on June 8, 1850, whereby it was responsible for the "judicial district Neufelden", ie the northern parts of the now dissolved district courts Haslach and Wachsenberg as well as for the castle cemetery Tannbergschlag . At the Haslach District Court, at the time it was founded, it was a Second Class District Court. This meant that the superior district collegial court Rohrbach was responsible for offenses as a criminal court. The regional court of Linz served as an appeal and verdict court, civil, collegial and commercial court for Neufelden . The District Court of Haslach was subordinate to the Regional Court of Linz until it was dissolved, whereby the District Court had to cease its activities on May 31, 1923.

Building

The building of the former district court is a former canvas dealer's house, which was first documented in 1740. In 1850 the building was bought by the municipality of Haslach, and in 1864 it became the seat of the district court. Parts of the building date from the end of the 16th century, although the building was later remodeled and finally added in 1960. In the course of the increase, there was also an interior renovation and a new facade. The building is a broad structure with a segment arch portal, which is marked with the year 1790 . Inside there is a barrel-vaulted passage, a floor-level cross-vaulted room on a Tuscan central column and a compartment with star-shaped ridges from the second half of the 16th century.
