Former courthouse

The Lembach District Court was a district court in the municipality of Lembach im Mühlkreis , Rohrbach district ( Upper Austria ). The district court responsible for the judicial district of Lembach existed from 1850 to 2002. The building of the former district court is a listed building.

history

On May 10, 1850, the previous princely and patrimonial courts were obliged by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz to hand over the judicial business to the newly appointed sovereign courts. The newly created district court of Lembach was instructed to start its business on June 14, 1850, whereby it became responsible for the "judicial district of Lembach", ie the southwestern part of the now dissolved district court of Marsbach . At the time of its establishment, the Lembach District Court was a District Court II class. This meant that the superior district collegial court Rohrbach was responsible for offenses as a criminal court. The regional court of Linz served as an appeal and verdict court, civil, collegial and commercial court for Lembach . The district court of Lembach was subordinate to the regional court of Linz until its dissolution, whereby the district court and two other district courts of the Rohrbach district had to cease its activities on December 31, 2003. The Rohrbach District Court has been responsible for the entire district since January 1, 2003.

Building

The courthouse was built in 1856 as a three-story house with a hipped roof. The main facade was structured by means of a rusticated ground floor and a colossal corner pilaster on the upper floor. At the rear of the building there is a staircase risalit. Inside the building there are flat barrel vaulted corridors, a barrel vaulted staircase with Biedermeier lattices and floors made of granite slabs.

The building is now used as a residential building and as an office of the Lembach police station.
