The District Court of Neufelden was a district court in the municipality of Neufelden , Rohrbach district ( Upper Austria ). The district court responsible for the judicial district of Neufelden existed from 1850 to 2002. The building of the former district court with the address Markt 38 is a listed building and is a corner house on Leinengasse.

history

On May 10, 1850, the previous princely and patrimonial courts were obliged by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz to hand over the judicial business to the newly appointed sovereign courts. The newly created district court Lembach was instructed to start its business on May 25, 1850, whereby it was for the "judicial district Neufelden", ie for parts of the former district courts of the now dissolved Marsbach , Haslach , Oberwallsee and Wachsenbergwas responsible. At the time of its establishment, the Neufelden District Court was a District Court II class. This meant that the superior district collegial court Rohrbach was responsible for offenses as a criminal court. The regional court of Linz served as an appeal and verdict court, civil, collegial and commercial court for Neufelden . The district court of Neufelden was subordinate to the regional court of Linz until its dissolution, whereby the district court had to cease its activities as of December 31, 2002 as well as two other district courts of the Rohrbach district. The Rohrbach District Court has been responsible for the entire district since January 1, 2003.

Building

The building of the former district court is a former town house, which is documented as early as 1718. The three-storey, representative town house was purchased in 1849 for use as a district court and rebuilt until 1854. It has a late medieval core and components from the Renaissance period with classicist changes. The exterior facade is in the Josephine-Classicist style from the end of the 18th century, whereby the facade was accentuated by a central projecting with a vase-crowned triangular gable. As further design elements, the facade has a basket arched portal with a Josephine door, windows with curved roofs and wrought iron window baskets. In front of the house there is also a granite table with a stone bench that served as a sales table and a gargoyle on the edge of the house. Inside there are barrel-vaulted cellars from the late Middle Ages, ground floor rooms with groin vaults on Tuscan columns from the end of the 16th century and flat groin or cap vaults on the 1st floor.
