The Sana Klinik Riedlingen , formerly the Riedlingen District Hospital , was a hospital in Riedlingen , Biberach district . Stationary operations were discontinued on June 30, 2020. The clinic belonged to the Sana Kliniken district of Biberach .

history

On December 15, 1879, the district hospital in Riedlingen was put into operation.

It was rebuilt in 1953.

From 2010 onwards, various models for the future of the operated houses were discussed by the former sponsor Kliniken Landkreis Biberach . On April 9, 2012 (Easter Monday), 2,000 people gathered and formed a human chain around the hospital to protest against the planned closure of the clinic and the establishment of an ambulance center.

In 2017 the clinic was once again considered to be endangered.

In October 2019 it was officially announced that the inpatient operation of the Riedlinger Klinik was to be discontinued on June 30, 2020, as a sustainable continuation was not possible. The decision was justified, among other things, with falling capacity utilization in the inpatient area, increasing difficulties in recruiting qualified specialist staff for the Riedlingen site and the disadvantage of smaller hospital locations with a lack of specialization due to legal requirements - for example, low-level nursing staff , minimum volume requirements or deductions for remuneration in emergency care.

The clinic's inpatient operation was discontinued on June 30, 2020.

There is also a nursing home run by the Sankt Elisabeth Foundation at the Riedlingen site.
