Białobrzeski (noble family)

Białobrzeski is the name of a Polish noble family that belonged to the Abdank community of crests . According to legend, the family belonged to ambassadors from Bolesław III. Crooked mouth . According to data from 1998, there are around 2000 inhabitants in Poland who are called Białobrzeski. These live in areas around Warsaw and Wroclaw , but mainly in northeastern Poland. During the reign of Johann III. Sobieski were family members of the Białobrzeskis official delegates of the Sejmik in the Sejm .

After the Three Partitions of Poland , the Białobrzeskis only owned a small amount of land and some real estate (e.g. in Tuszyn ). As a result of the uprisings in the 19th century in divided Poland, the Białobrzeskis lost even more land.

One of the most famous members of the family who lived in the Sieradz Voivodeship is Kazimierz Białobrzeski, who was instrumental in the introduction of the telephone network in Poland before World War II .
