The Biblioteca Municipal Almeida Garrett is a municipal library in the Portuguese city of Porto .

It was built in 2000/01 as part of the Porto program as European Capital of Culture 2001 in the western area of ​​the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal and opened on April 2, 2001. It is named after the poet Almeida Garrett (1799–1854), who was born in Porto.

In addition to the actual library in the basement, the building houses a two-story exhibition hall and an auditorium with almost 200 seats, as well as a cafeteria .
