Bibliotheca Geographorum Arabicorum

The Bibliotheca Geographorum Arabicorum ("Library of Arabic Geographers"; abbreviation BGA ) is a series of critical editions of classical Arabic geographical texts originally published by the Dutch orientalist Michael Jan de Goeje (1836–1909) as main editor in 1870 and 1894, written by several of the most famous Arab geographers .

They are all original editions that have been provided with indices and glossaries. The series is still published today by the Brill publishing house in Leiden . The series was later partially updated in new editions, so there is an updated edition of Muqaddasīs Kitāb aḥsan al-taqāsīm by Michael Jan de Goeje and Johannes H. Kramers ' new edition of Ibn Ḥawkals Kitāb al-masālik wa-l-mamālik .

Régis Blachère (1900–1973), Hamilton Alexander Rosskeen Gibb (1895–1971), Paul Kahle (1875–1964), Johannes H. Kramers (1891–1951), Hans von Mžik (1876–1961 ) contributed to the series as editors ), Carlo Alfonso Nallino (1872–1938) and Arent J. Wensinck (1882–1939).
