from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

bidok - disability inclusion documentation is a digital full-text library with texts and materials on the subject of integration and inclusion of people with disabilities at the Institute for Educational Sciences at the University of Innsbruck .

The internet library includes scientific papers, articles from magazines and books, reports, lectures, reviews. It includes around 1500 digital full texts on 16 subject areas.

Full text library

The main task of the project is the processing of subject-specific articles from the areas of integrative / inclusive pedagogy and disability studies in the full-text library. The digital library is unique in its field in that bidok makes complete texts (and not just titles or partial excerpts) available on the Internet. The focus is more on literature that is difficult to access, so-called gray literature (e.g. unpublished papers, manuscripts, conference reports, discussion papers, publications by small publishers) and out-of-print texts / books, as well as specialist articles from various journals.

The texts are included in the full-text library according to the following subject areas: working world, disability studies, eugenics, gender difference, culture, living space, psychosocial work, law, school, self-determined life, sexuality, theoretical principles, therapy, preschool area. When selecting the texts for bidok, the focus is on their importance for integrative / inclusive pedagogy and the development of the rights of disabled people. This relates to both practical or action-related as well as sociological theoretical orientations in the texts.

The bidok website in general and the full-text library in particular are intended to make information and scientific articles accessible to the largest possible number of interested parties. Therefore, technologies are used on the website that enable compliance with the standards for accessibility , that guarantee the longevity of information, that are flexible and expandable, and that are also useful for meeting aesthetic criteria.

bidok easy reading

In addition to the general library, there is also another library that provides texts in easy language . In addition, there is a wide range of information on further offers in plain language on the Internet via commented link lists. Easy language ensures that linguistic barriers are broken down and thus enables all members of society to participate in all areas of life.

bidok has therefore set itself the goal of providing relevant topics and content, especially for people with learning difficulties, in easy language. The easy-to-read library contains numerous texts on the legal situation of people with disabilities, but also on the topics of work, social developments, bioethics, etc.
