Volker Schönwiese

Volker Schönwiese (born January 20, 1948 in Graz ) is an Austrian psychologist and educator .

Life

Volker Schönwiese spent his childhood in Graz, Windischgarsten and Kufstein . In 1958 he fell ill with rheumatoid arthritis , which resulted in permanent disability. As a partially integrated external student, he attended the Kufstein secondary school and graduated from high school in 1968. From 1968 he studied psychology and pedagogy at the University of Innsbruck and received his doctorate in 1980. In 1983 he became a university assistant at the Institute for Educational Sciences at the University of Innsbruck and completed his habilitation in 1993 on integration pedagogy as non-segregating and activating pedagogy for the disabled and became a lecturer in 1994 and later an associate professor. From 1978 to 1981 he trained in conversation psychotherapy . In 1993 he founded the internet library for questions about the integration of disabled people, bidok - handicap inclusion documentation at the University of Innsbruck. Schönwiese is the author of numerous scientific and other publications. In 1985 he was a co-founder of the "Mobile Aid Service Innsbruck". His main research interests include a. Disability Studies, Accessibility and Participation, School Integration / Inclusion and Everyday Life for the Disabled.
