Lists on the subject

The sniper rifle Big Boar Competition Rifle was developed and built by the US company LAR . With this, LAR reacted to the ever increasing demand for long-range sniper rifles with high precision and penetration .

Technical features

The weapon, which with its immense length and weight is less suitable for sniper missions in difficult terrain, is characterized by such a large effective firing range that both the military and the civilian market quickly took a liking to it. In particular, the Gulf War in the early 1990s had increased the demand for weapons of this type in the ranks of the US Army.

Since the weapon develops an immense recoil when firing the large-caliber ammunition , the weapon was additionally weighted a little so that the large weight, together with a recoil brake to be mounted on the barrel, absorbs the recoil and the shooter is not injured.

In the meantime, private competitions with such weapons have established themselves on the entire American continent. Under the name of "Long Range" competitions, the Big Boar Competition Rifle is often used.
