Biggs Island is an island in the South Georgia archipelago in the South Atlantic . It is located on the northeastern foothills of the Lewin Peninsula .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2009. It is named after the Biggs family, who lived in South Georgia from 1954 to the 1960s.
