Franziska Messner-Rast

Franziska Messner-Rast (born June 26, 1951 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss photographer .

Life

Franziska Messner is the daughter of Pius Rast and trained as a photographer in her father's business from 1967 to 1971. She then worked in Bern and Zurich , and finally settled in Arbon . From 1983 to 2013 she formed a studio community with her brother Michael Rast.

Messner dealt with portrait photography early on and worked a. a. with the brother of Dino Larese , the publisher and «Erker-Gallerist» Franz Larese (1927–2000).

Messer participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions and her photographs appeared in numerous publications. In 1995 Messner received a sponsorship award and in 2013 a work grant from the Canton of St. Gallen.
