In general, Bikram Yoga is known as hot yoga and is now a very popular type of yoga with over 600 schools worldwide. Bikram Choudhury tried to protect the yoga method presented as his. However, an American court denied his claims on May 8, 2015.
24 physical exercises ( asanas ) and 2 breathing exercises ( pranayama ) are practiced. The hot room should enable safe muscle and tendon work, protect against injuries and sweating should " detoxify " the body .

- "Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator" tells of the dramatic rise and fall of the controversial inventor of "hot yoga" - Bikram Choudhury. After arriving in Beverly Hills from Calcutta, India in the early 1970s, he quickly built himself a celebrity status with numerous followers and built a global fitness empire that made him incredibly rich. In the 2010s, however, numerous allegations of sexual abuse and his aggressive, sect-like training environment became public. Lawsuits increased and his unorthodox teaching style became the main headline in the media. The Netflix original "Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Raubtier" was directed by Oscar® winner Eva Orner ("Taxi to Hell", "Chasing Asylum") and Sarah Anthony ("The Price of Free", "The Defiant Ones ") responsible. The documentary is dedicated to the women who overthrew him from the throne and illuminates the contradiction in how this doctrine of salvation could help and harm so many people at the same time.
