Images for holiday is a multi-cultural mission in the form of short reports of the Swiss Radio and Television on SRF 1 . It is broadcast sporadically after the main edition of the information program 10vor10 at around 10:20 p.m. The name of the program refers to the various religious and cultural holidays in Switzerland that are not taken into account in the weekly Christian “ Word on Sunday ”. These include Islam , Buddhism , Judaism , Hinduism , the Eastern Churches and the like. a.

The concept of the program provides that, based on the experience of the reporter, the subjective, personal point of view is in the foreground. Through this form of New Journalism , the audience should experience the foreign customs and traditions of the respective religion together with the moderation team.

The pictures for the holiday have existed as short reports since the 1990s. While it used to be about explaining unknown rituals and customs on a factual level , since 2009 the focus has been on surprising encounters and impressive experiences between the reporters and the religious protagonists. In this way, non-Christian religions and cultures in particular are to be presented more effectively to a broader public.

Pictures for the holiday is an in-house production of Swiss radio and television and reports on site across Switzerland about the various celebrations as well as their religious rituals and ceremonial practices of the faith communities.

The show is moderated by Raschida Bouhouch and Tenzin Khangsar.
